About This Spot

Stepping into Restaurant Gdanska feels like being invited into a warm, unhurried corner of Oberhausen where Polish tradition and lively music pulse in harmony. Nestled right on Altmarkt, this spot effortlessly blends the charm of an authentic Polish eatery with the vibrant energy of a blues and jazz club. The atmosphere is relaxed yet buzzing with a subtle anticipation—whether it’s the soft murmur of conversations over hearty meals or the rhythmic notes drifting in from the live music sessions.

The pace here encourages you to savor each moment, from the comforting clink of a freshly poured Weizenbier or Polnisches Bier to the first bite of a delicately filled pierogi. There’s a genuine sense of togetherness, the kind you find in places where food is shared and stories unfold freely around the table. The menu invites you on a curious journey through flavors and textures that feel lovingly familiar yet compellingly different—think smoky, slow-simmered bigos alongside lighter, refreshing soups crafted from seasonal produce.

It’s a place where children’s laughter weaves through the corner play area, making it a gathering spot for families as much as for those looking to unwind with friends or discover local rhythms. The coexistence of Polish culinary heritage and the soulful pulse of blues and jazz crafts an experience that lingers—comforting in its honesty and vibrant in its embrace of community. Whether settling in for a casual meal or soaking up a night of live music, Restaurant Gdanska offers a quietly joyful discovery in the heart of the city.

Relatively cheap, and large portions, food came quickly after ordering. Nice to sit outside when its warm enough.

Really nice polish food. We loved the dumplings. This is always an happening place and the service is fantastic. As tiddler parents we loved thier kids play area such a cozy and amazing play area for kids. There are few vegetarian options as well. Highly recommended if you are looking for authentic polish food.

The first meeting with Restaurant Ganska and I was really impressed with this place. The beer was delicious, the soup was very good, the main course could be improved; the salad and roulade are delicious, but the "kluski slaskie" is a shame, it's not bad and I will definitely come back.

Large variety of Polish cuisine. Very nice food. Selection of vegetarian options. Nice selection of vodka. People are very kind and friendly. Prices are very decent!

The place was ok, unfortunetlly the food was only partially polish and huge minus for frozen pierogi - as this is one of the most traditional polish food it should be not offer at all if it is frozen branded and not the best one. Schabowy and rolada were good, portion big enough to not be hungry after for a while. Waitress were super nice!
